We are looking for Head of Pre-Prep to oversee their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Nursery, Reception, and Key Stage 1 (Years 1-2) curricula. In this role, you will ensure consistency in teaching and learning, monitor children's progress, and implement assessments that drive improvements. You will lead staff development, coordinate training, and provide support to ensure high-quality education and care. There is a strong focus on pastoral care and you will manage wellbeing and behavioural issues, liaise with parents, and create a nurturing environment for Fulham's youngest learners. From overseeing school policies and health & safety compliance to managing events and resources, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Pre-Prep experience. 

 

This role is located at our Palace Gardens site on Fulham High Street. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee EYFS, Nursery, Reception, and Key Stage 1 curricula, ensuring consistency in teaching and learning.

  • Monitor children's progress, including those with additional needs, and implement assessments to improve standards.

  • Coordinate staff development, INSET training, and provide support for teaching staff.

  • Ensure effective pastoral care, manage wellbeing/behavioral issues, and liaise with parents.

  • Lead the planning, resourcing, and launch of a high-quality Nursery provision.

  • Oversee school policies, risk assessments, and health & safety compliance.

  • Manage Pre-Prep events, communication, and contribute to school development plans.

  • Lead transitions between key stages (Nursery to Reception, Year 2 to Year 3).

  • Manage budgets, resources, and staff recruitment for the Pre-Prep area.

  • Act as DDSL, visible ambassador for the school, and engage with the community.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent 
  • Proven experience of teaching  or leading EYFS, Reception and Key Stage 1
  • Proven experience in management either as a middle or senior leader
  • Experience in pastoral care and pupil wellbeing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Interest in working with students inside and outside the classroom to support their learning and personal development
  • Readiness to engage whole-heartedly in the extracurricular and wider life of the school
