ROLE SUMMARY:

Fulham Prep School are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and inspiring Director of Creative Arts to join the school in September 2025. The role will be based at the Prep site. The Director of Creative Arts will be a key member of the school’s team and will have a particular specialism in Music. The successful candidate will have responsibility for all aspects of both curricular and co-curricular Creative Arts in the school. This includes Art, Music and Drama.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility for all aspects of Creative Arts provision within the school
  • Fostering a culture in which broad engagement with the Creative Arts is an inherent part of the Fulham School experience
  •  Leading on the curricular provision of Music, Art and Drama
  • Leading a co-curricular Creative Arts programme that is both inclusive and delivered to an extremely high standard
  •  Nurturing and monitoring a range of choirs, orchestras and ensembles throughout the two sites
  • Planning and preparing lessons and schemes of work in accordance with departmental and school policy. 
  • Line management of all Music, Drama and Art teaching staff, including the interviewing, appointment and management of a range of peripatetic staff as required 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Relevent teaching degree
  • Proven experience of teaching Key Stages 1, 2 and 3
  •  Experience of leading a department
  •  Ability to engage and motivate young people
  • Ability to manage own workload, to cope well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Interest in working with students inside and outside the classroom to support their learning and personal development
