ROLE SUMMARY:

St Louis School – Archinto campus, part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking a talented, well-qualified, and inspirational IB Diploma Programme (DP) Biology Teacher to cover a maternity leave from 24 November 2025.

The successful candidate will teach IB DP Biology and contribute to the continued development of the Science Department within a dynamic, internationally minded IB World School. This is a fixed-term appointment offering the chance to join a collaborative, student-centred team that places learning at the heart of everything we do.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver engaging, inquiry-based IB DP Biology lessons in line with IB standards and practices.
Prepare students thoroughly for IB external assessments, supporting them to achieve outstanding academic outcomes.
Work closely with Science Department colleagues and across disciplines to enrich curriculum design and foster interdisciplinary learning.
Differentiate instruction and provide targeted support for students whose first language is not English.
Participate fully in school life, including departmental meetings, professional development, and relevant extracurricular activities.
Model the attributes of the IB Learner Profile and the Inspired Education ethos in all interactions.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential

Legal right to live and work in Italy or an EU passport.
Degree in Biology (or closely related field) and recognised teaching qualification.
Minimum of two years’ teaching experience, with proven success preparing students for IB external examinations.
Strong laboratory and practical skills, with the ability to bring biological concepts to life for students.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and supporting multilingual learners.

Preferred

Previous experience in an international or multicultural school setting.
Specific expertise or prior success delivering IB DP Biology.
Familiarity with strategies for English as an Additional Language (EAL) support.
