ROLE SUMMARY:

PaRK International School is seeking a qualified, inspiring, and dynamic Teacher of Portuguese as a Second Language (PLNM). The primary objective is to deliver high-quality language and cultural instruction to students from diverse nationalities, helping them integrate successfully into our global school community of over 60 nationalities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver differentiated Portuguese lessons for international students.
Develop student reading, writing, and oral skills.
Align lesson plans with international school frameworks.
Conduct regular formative and summative language assessments.
Track individual progress and write parent reports.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
Support student well-being through school tutoring programs.
Collaborate with homeroom teachers and school leadership.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Portuguese Studies, Modern Languages, Education, or a related field.
Official teaching qualification recognized in Portugal (e.g., Habilitação Própria/Profissional, PGCE, or QTS equivalents).
Specialization or certification in teaching PLNM / Portuguese as a Foreign Language (highly preferred).
Previous experience teaching non-native speakers within an international school or multicultural setting.
Proven ability to use differentiated instructional strategies for multilingual learners.
Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese, with high proficiency in English for professional collaboration.
Strong digital literacy and experience integrating educational technology (e.g., Microsoft Teams/Office 365).
