ROLE SUMMARY:
Contract: Temporary – Paternity Leave Cover (up to 4 months, with possibility of renewal)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspire and Motivate: Build trust and confidence with students, creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences.

Curriculum Knowledge: Deliver lessons aligned with GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP curricula, ensuring students meet academic goals.

Planning for Learning: Design effective and inclusive lesson plans that support diverse student needs and promote academic growth.

Assessment for Progress: Use a range of formative and summative assessments to monitor and support student achievement.

Behaviour and Safety: Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.

Whole School Contribution: Support school development goals and contribute to improvement planning.

Pastoral Support: Promote the personal well-being of students, collaborating with colleagues and parents as needed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A relevant university degree and recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

Experience teaching English at the secondary level (GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP)

The ability to motivate and inspire students in a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment

Strong classroom management skills and a clear commitment to high standards

Confidence in using educational technology to enhance teaching and learning

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues
