Contract: Temporary – Paternity Leave Cover (up to 4 months, with possibility of renewal)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are now seeking a well-qualified and passionate English Teacher to join our team with with immediatly availability, on a temporary basis to cover a paternity leave. The contract will be for up to 4 months, with the possibility of renewal.

  • Inspire and Motivate: Build trust and confidence with students, creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Deliver lessons aligned with GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP curricula, ensuring students meet academic goals.
  • Planning for Learning: Design effective and inclusive lesson plans that support diverse student needs and promote academic growth.
  • Assessment for Progress: Use a range of formative and summative assessments to monitor and support student achievement.
  • Behaviour and Safety: Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Whole School Contribution: Support school development goals and contribute to improvement planning.
  • Pastoral Support: Promote the personal well-being of students, collaborating with colleagues and parents as needed.
  • Beyond the Classroom: Contribute to trips and extra-curricular clubs that enhance students’ educational experience.
  • Team Collaboration: Be a positive and supportive member of the faculty, fostering collaboration and professional dialogue.
  • Lifelong Learning: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your own practice and impact.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A relevant university degree and recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level (GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP)
  • The ability to motivate and inspire students in a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment
  • Strong classroom management skills and a clear commitment to high standards
  • Confidence in using educational technology to enhance teaching and learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues
  • A commitment to inclusive teaching practices and supporting a wide range of learning needs
  • A passion for continuous professional development and a growth mindset
  • Experience in or openness to contributing to school improvement initiatives
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
