ROLE SUMMARY:
The Junior School Support Teacher plays a pivotal role at PaRK International School in ensuring every student reaches their full academic and personal potential. Working in close collaboration with bilingual homeroom teachers, this professional delivers targeted pedagogical support to individuals and small groups. The core focus is on educational differentiation, inclusion, and fostering student autonomy within a multicultural and dynamic environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver targeted intervention in core subjects (Math, English, Portuguese, Sciences).
- Implement differentiation strategies for students requiring academic reinforcement or EAL support.
- Conduct small-group sessions and one-on-one tutoring to bridge learning gaps.
- Partner with homeroom teachers to co-plan and adapt inclusive learning materials.
- Foster student well-being by modeling empathy, resilience, and positive reinforcement.
- Supervise student transitions, break times, and assemblies to maintain campus safety.
- Track student progress, providing structured feedback to teachers and the SENCO team.
- Contribute to learning plans during grade-level pedagogical meetings.
- Uphold safeguarding standards by adhering to global child protection policies.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Qualifications: Degree in Primary Education, Educational Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
- Languages: Full professional proficiency in English (mandatory); proficiency in Portuguese is highly valued.
- Experience: Proven experience working with children aged 6 to 10 in international or bilingual settings.
- Tech-Savviness: Experience using educational technology and platforms (e.g., iPads, Seesaw, MS Teams).
- Mindset: A proactive, learner-focused approach with a passion for multicultural team environments.
