To join our team, we are looking for a dedicated and highly organised Junior School Physical Education Teacher, with a strong commitment to promoting physical well-being and contributing to the vibrant sporting life of our learning community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, a focus on student safety, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in inspiring young learners to develop a lifelong love for physical activity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons focused on sport-specific skills, tactics, and progression across the KS2 curriculum.
- Cultivate an inclusive, active environment that challenges students and promotes lifelong healthy habits.
- Assess and track progress, providing feedback that encourages student self-evaluation and technical growth.
- Foster leadership and resilience through competitive sport, teamwork, and fair play.
- Lead extracurricular clubs and inter-school fixtures, coordinating tournaments and sporting events.
- Engage with parents and staff to report on student achievement and support whole-school wellbeing initiatives.
- Contribute to pastoral care, using sport to model positive behavior and build student confidence.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience delivering PE in a Junior School/KS2 setting.
- Strong pedagogical knowledge of sport-specific skills, tactical gameplay, and adolescent physical development.
- Excellent English communication skills, capable of engaging students, parents, and coaching staff.
- Passion for inclusive excellence, balancing "sport for all" with the development of competitive school teams.
- Proactive team player committed to leading extracurricular clubs, fixtures, and whole-school events.
