ROLE SUMMARY:

 

We are seeking an outstanding IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Coordinator to join our Senior School Leadership Team from August 2025. This is a key academic and pastoral leadership position responsible for the strategic oversight and daily operation of the IBDP at PaRK IS.

As IBDP Coordinator, you will lead the delivery of a world-class Diploma Programme that reflects our values of academic excellence, global citizenship, and holistic education. You will work closely with academic and pastoral leaders to ensure every student is challenged, supported, and prepared for university and life beyond school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Lead the strategic and operational management of the IB Diploma Programme, ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of a broad, balanced, and differentiated IB curriculum aligned with IBO guidelines and PaRK IS values.

  • Support Grade 11 and 12 students academically and pastorally, including those following A Level pathways, ensuring their well-being and academic progress.

  • Line manage the CAS Coordinator, Head of Extended Essay, and University Advisers (International and Portuguese), ensuring cohesive delivery across all aspects of the DP.

  • Coordinate the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and CAS components, ensuring compliance and engagement.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Deputy Head to ensure effective assessment, reporting, and timetabling for IB students.

  • Ensure compliance with all IBO administrative, registration, and examination requirements, including the use of ManageBac and ISAMS.

  • Lead induction for Grade 10 students transitioning into the IB Programme and support new student admissions into Grades 11–12.

  • Provide high-quality university and careers guidance by overseeing university counselling and post-results support.

  • Represent PaRK IS within the broader IB community, developing partnerships and sharing best practices across Inspired and beyond.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A recognised teaching qualification and substantial experience with the IB Diploma Programme, ideally in a leadership or coordination role.

  • Deep understanding of IBO standards, curriculum frameworks, and assessment protocols.

  • A proven track record of academic leadership, preferably at Senior School or Sixth Form level.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

  • A student-centred approach with a strong commitment to holistic education and pastoral care.

  • Experience with university and careers guidance, especially international university systems.

  • The ability to lead, inspire, and support colleagues across disciplines and roles.

  • Proficiency in using digital tools for curriculum management and reporting (e.g. ManageBac, ISAMS).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with students, parents, and staff.

  • A collaborative, reflective, and forward-thinking mindset aligned with PaRK IS and Inspired values.
