ROLE SUMMARY:

PaRK International School is a top-tier international school that aims to guide and inspire students to be happy and successful in their adult lives. To join our team, we are looking for a well-qualified and talented Higher Education (HE) Advisor. 

The HE Advisor will play a key role in preparing, guiding, and supporting PaRK IS students in their academic and career aspirations, particularly regarding university applications and future career planning. This position works across all aspects of the school to ensure that students have the necessary information, resources, and opportunities to make informed post-secondary decisions. 

This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of students at PaRK International School by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate their higher education journey successfully. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • University & Career Guidance – Provide individualised support to students in exploring, planning, and preparing for higher education and career paths, with a focus on international universities. 
  • Application Support – Guide students through university application processes, including essay writing, personal statements, recommendation letters, and interview preparation. 
  • Programme Development – Design and implement a comprehensive careers and university guidance programme, supporting students from IGCSE through IBDP to ensure informed decision-making at each stage. 
  • Information & Resources – Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international university admissions processes, scholarships, and career opportunities, sharing relevant insights with students, parents, and staff. 
  • Workshops & Events – Organize university fairs, career talks, application workshops, and information sessions to expose students to a variety of post-secondary options. 
  • Collaboration with Senior Leadership – Work closely with the senior leadership team to integrate university and career guidance within the school's curriculum and support initiatives. 
  • Student Tracking & Reporting – Monitor student progress and university application outcomes, providing data-driven insights to refine and enhance guidance strategies. 
  • Parental Engagement – Effectively communicate with parents, ensuring they are well-informed about university pathways, application deadlines, and available support. 
  • Teaching Component (0.25 Load) – Contribute to Senior School teaching as part of a reduced teaching timetable, enhancing student learning beyond guidance counselling. 
  • Oxbridge preparation – implement a programme to support our highest achievers to gain places at the world’s most prestigious universities.  

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A university degree in a relevant subject. 
  • Extensive knowledge of international university admissions processes and career pathways. 
  • Experience in higher education advising or a similar student support role in an international school setting. 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively manage student guidance programs. 
  • An adaptable and student-centred approach to counselling and career planning. 
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for helping students achieve their academic and career goals. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to provide effective guidance and mentorship. 
  • Confidence in using ICT tools to enhance university and career guidance programs. 
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with higher education trends.
