We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join our Social Sciences department. The successful candidate will inspire and engage senior students in understanding physical and human geography, fostering critical thinking, global awareness, and environmental responsibility within our international curricula (including the IB Diploma Programme).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons: Plan and execute engaging Geography lessons aligned with international curriculum frameworks (IGCSE / IB DP).
  • Foster critical thinking: Guide students to analyze real-world current events, global phenomena, and human-environmental interactions.
  • Differentiate instruction: Adapt teaching methods to support diverse learning styles and language proficiencies within a bilingual environment.
  • Integrate technology & fieldwork: Utilize digital tools (like GIS) and organize practical fieldwork or environmental inquiry projects.
  • Track and report progress: Conduct continuous formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and detailed academic reports.
  • Collaborate with staff: Work with the Social Sciences department to develop curricula, share resources, and create cross-curricular initiatives.
  • Support student well-being: Act as a form tutor if required, maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Education: A university degree in Geography, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching Qualification: Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or national equivalent).
  • Experience:
      • Proven experience teaching Geography at the Secondary/High School level.
      • Direct experience with international curricula, specifically the IB Diploma Programme (highly preferred).
  • Language Skills: Near-native or fully proficient English speaker (as the curriculum is delivered in English).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with educational technology, learning management systems, and presentation software.
