ROLE SUMMARY:

Inspired Education is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Camps manager who will plan, coordinate and oversee the overall camp programmes in 2 locations in Portugal, between Palmela and Cascais. This is an exciting new role for someone to develop and nurture that will be sustainable for years to come. They are responsible for the overall running and organisation of the summer camp, from admissions, customer service and speaking to parents to activity planning and executing a successful and profitable camp. This is for someone who can work independently with support from the Global camps Co-Ordinator, heads of schools and regional CEO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and approve camp program activities.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise camp staff.
  • Manage enrollment procedures and paperwork.
  • Provide updates on leads and enrollments.
  • Collaborate with school heads and Camps Coordinator.
  • Establish camp policies and guidelines.
  • Plan and book camp activities within budget.
  • Coordinate facility arrangements and scheduling.
  • Conduct risk management training and checks.
  • Handle camper selection and parent inquiries.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • English speaker or C1 level proficiency.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role in education or working with children.
  • In-depth understanding of the relevant industry.
  • Strong collaborative and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and management skills.
  • Patient, enthusiastic, self-controlled, and dependable demeanor.
  • Teaching or coaching leadership qualifications.
  • Ability to set clear expectations and goals, adaptable teaching style, and effective preparation and planning skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar management role, particularly in education, summer camps, or events.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and other languages.
  • Experience in marketing/sales and budget management.
  • Additional qualifications such as teaching, coaching, pastoral care, or business management.
  • Personal attributes including creativity, self-motivation, innovation, goal orientation, proficiency in Microsoft Office, understanding of sales and marketing principles, and outstanding interpersonal skills.
