IT Support Officer

ROLE SUMMARY:

The IT Support Officer serves as the primary point of contact for IT support for staff, students, and parents. The role involves installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware faults, and resolving technical and application issues both remotely and in person.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues across Windows, Chrome OS, Android, Apple, and a range of applications.

  • Provide IT support to staff, students, and parents.

  • Maintain the IT ticketing system, ensuring all requests are correctly logged and assigned.

  • Take ownership of incidents, performing analysis to deliver timely solutions.

  • Accurately record and update technical documentation and incident reports.

  • Install, configure, and maintain new IT equipment and mobile devices.

  • Create and publish support documentation to aid staff and students in resolving common issues.

  • Perform regular server checks and system maintenance tasks.

  • Set up and manage user accounts, profiles, and password recovery processes.

  • Troubleshoot system, software, and network problems.

  • Manage daily backups and ensure data security.

  • Set up projectors, laptops, and sound systems for meetings and events.

  • Update and maintain school websites as required.

  • Undertake additional IT-related tasks as directed by the Network & System Administrator.

  • Maintain and audit IT equipment inventory.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

Educational Background: A degree in Computer Information Systems or a relevant diploma, coupled with good HSC/A Level results.

Knowledge & Experience: A minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience in IT support, proficiency in IT tools, and a strong understanding of network infrastructure.

Skills: Demonstrated analytical abilities, effective communication skills, strong customer service orientation, and expertise in Microsoft Office tools and Excel.
