OUR SCHOOL:
Reddam House Umhlanga is seeking a dynamic and experienced to provide strong leadership and ensure a holistic and high-quality educational experience for students and staff within the College School phase. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive learning environment, driving academic excellence, and promoting the overall well-being and development of both students and teachers. This position demands a strategic thinker with exceptional management and interpersonal skills, dedicated to upholding the high standards of Inspired Schools.
ROLE SUMMARY:
To adopt a holistic view to students in your care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to you. To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach an Academic subject, with proven success at Matric level
- Be an active and supportive member of the SLT
- Responsibly lead the team to improved performance within a progressive and engaged environment
- Lead various school events and stakeholder engagements
- Establish and manage College academic, sport, cultural and outreach timetables and calendars
- Communicate weekly and daily routines to all staff and relevant stakeholders
- Assist Grade Heads, particularly with regard to operational and discipline issues
- Manage the student portals (iSAMS and CANVAS)
- Manage the onboarding of new teachers and student interns
- Manage teaching facilities and resources
- Oversee sport and cultural facilities and the effective use thereof
- Sit on the Health and Safety committee.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Able to set clear expectations and stretch goals
- Adaptable teaching style incorporating feedback to parents and students
- A depth of understanding requirements in the relevant grades
- Teaches with passion and a plan
- Ability to judge learning effectiveness
- Proficient in English.
- Be proactive and responsible to all areas of action.
- Communicate clearly, accurately and frequently to all stakeholders
- Experience in leading a high performing team.
- A minimum of 3- 5 years experience in a leadership and management role will be advantageous.
- University qualification
- Certified Teaching Status
- SACE accredited.
