ROLE SUMMARY:
Reddam House Bedfordview is seeking a passionate and dynamic Drama Teacher to join our Junior Preparatory team. This role focuses on inspiring creativity, confidence, and self-expression in students from Grade 0 to Grade 3, fostering a love for performance and storytelling while developing essential communication and collaboration skills. The successful candidate will create engaging learning experiences, contribute to the performing arts culture of the school, and support the holistic development of every child.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate drama lessons that inspire creativity and confidence.
- Prepare and coach students for public speaking competitions, Eisteddfods, and school concerts.
- Collaborate closely with the Arts and Culture team to plan and produce school events, assemblies, and performances.
- Maintain excellent classroom management and create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Demonstrate strong organisation, punctuality, and preparedness for all lessons and school commitments.
- Contribute to the broader life of the school through participation in duties, events, and initiatives.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents to support performance and personal growth.
- Stay informed on current educational trends and best practices in drama education for young learners.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A relevant teaching qualification with specialisation in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Experience teaching young children (Grade 0–3) in a school environment.
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- A passion for the performing arts and the ability to ignite creativity in young learners.
- High levels of organisation, energy, and commitment to maintaining excellent standards.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with children.
- A positive, proactive, professional attitude and a willingness to contribute to the school community.
