ROLE SUMMARY:

Reddam House Bedfordview seeks to appoint an experienced, passionate, and dynamic Grade Head for the Early Learning School. Reporting to the Head of Early Learning School, the Grade Head will provide leadership and oversight of a designated grade, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, pastoral care, and parent engagement.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting educators, driving academic standards, fostering collaboration within the grade team, and ensuring the holistic development and wellbeing of every child. The Grade Head will be a visible and supportive leader who embodies the values and culture of Reddam House Bedfordview and Inspired Education.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Academic Leadership

• Lead the academic programme within the allocated grade, ensuring consistency and excellence in curriculum delivery.
• Support educators in planning, assessment, moderation, and reporting processes.
• Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions where required.
• Promote innovative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning standards across the grade.

Staff Leadership and Development

• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to teachers within the grade.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and professional growth within the team.

Student Wellbeing and Pastoral Care

• Promote a nurturing, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Parent Partnership and Communication

• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians.

Operational and School Leadership

• Assist with the effective day-to-day operation of the Early Learning School.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification; 
• Current SACE registration; 
• Minimum 5 years teaching experience within an Early Learning or Foundation Phase environment
• Previous leadership experience
• Strong communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
