Reddam House Helderfontein is a premier, private school, situated in the picturesque Helderfontein Estate Valley, surrounded by the leafy suburbs of Dainfern, Fourways, Lonehill and Broadacres. The Helderfontein Campus provides a beautiful, tranquil, secure, nurturing, enabling, learning-and-exploring environment. ROLE SUMMARY:

 

The Executive Head is responsible for providing overall strategic direction and management to the School as a whole, including Business Management, Marketing and External Engagement, as well as managing the day-to-day running of the College.

 

S/he will lead and direct the School so that its long-term growth is ensured and provide a compelling narrative and vision to attract students and increase numbers. Specific duties and responsibilities include firstly oversight of the management of each of the Sections within the School as well as other areas which stretch across all three sections of the School, such as communication, marketing, development, external relations and liaising with alumni.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Hold responsibility for the leadership and management of the entire School and for promoting the achievement of excellence in education in line with the aims, values and vision of Inspired.
  • Work closely with the CEO: South Africa, to determine the strategic direction and policies of the School.
  • Provide regular analysis of the School’s ongoing performance against a variety of targets to include academic progress and achievement, admissions and enrolment, staff recruitment and overall school development.
  • Consider future opportunities for Reddam House Helderfontein and undertake regular revision of the School Development Plan Management.
  • Manage the College and Heads of each Section of the School.
  • Provide strong and visible leadership, overseeing the continual development of an appropriately challenging curriculum informed by high academic standards.
  • Lead the appointment, appraisal and management of all school staff and provide opportunities for career growth.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure that the School’s vision, mission, ethos and strategy development are clearly articulated and understood by staff members.

  • Support and guide members of staff, promoting a united staff, working for the good of the School
  • Lead the positive implementation of equal opportunities.
  • Academic, pastoral & co-curricular oversight.
  • Ensure the provision of quality education that enhances the Inspired brand
  • Establish and apply Reddam House policies to ensure the school is seen to be relevant in the SA and Global contexts and valued as a center of educational excellence.
  • Monitor, manage and implement the school resources, curriculum, calendar and timetable, CPD programmes, examinations and reporting systems.
  • Ensure the academic vision is relevant and implemented.
  • Maintain a code of behaviour which promotes high quality teaching and effective learning
  • Foster excellence in the School’s cultural and sporting life.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • Several years teaching and Head experience with a specific focus on IEB
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Confident and dynamic personality.
  • Strong creative outlook.
  • Proven track record of success in Head of School roles.
  • Ability and proven track record in management of teams and people management skills
  • Relevant Teaching Degree, Masters
  • Ability to role model attributes of Servant Leadership
  • Good planning, organising and reporting skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm.
