ROLE SUMMARY:
Reddam House Helderfontein is seeking a dedicated Stage 2 Teacher to join the Early Learning School on a fixed-term basis for Term 1, 2026. The successful candidate will adopt a holistic approach to each child’s development, creating a nurturing, inspiring learning environment that supports every student’s progress and wellbeing. This role requires an engaging practitioner who motivates young learners, maintains high professional standards, and contributes positively to the life of the school.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare, and present engaging and exciting lessons.
- Establish a nurturing teaching environment that promotes active and meaningful learning.
- Demonstrate professionalism in punctuality, behaviour, work standards, and management of homework.
- Evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, both personal and school-wide.
- Produce high-quality learning resources for students.
- Respond to parent emails and messages within 24 hours.
- Show loyalty to all facets of Reddam House.
- Attend special school events as required by the Head.
- Set, administer, and mark assessments and examinations.
- Write report comments to a high standard.
- Undertake any additional reasonable duties as directed by the School Head or line manager.

- Strong subject knowledge relevant to Early Learning.
- Ability to judge teaching and learning effectiveness.
- Excellent planning and preparation.
- Strong assessment practice and effective feedback delivery.
- Genuine care and attention for student welfare.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Junior Preparatory School.
- Confident use of ICT in teaching.
- University degree in a relevant subject.
- Certified Teaching Status and appropriate right to work.
- Passion for the profession with excellent organisational skills.
- Positive attitude to change and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively with a Teaching Assistant and colleagues.
Desirable
- Background knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Previous Early Learning experience.
