ABOUT THE TEAM:

 

The marketing team strives to deliver excellence through effective brand awareness, lead generation, growth, enrolment and retention activity. The focus for this team is to drive student admissions, grow our brand, enhance the customer journey and identify revenue opportunities for our portfolio of schools.

 

Specialist marketing knowledge and experience is critical, as we are transforming the marketing function from being highly decentralised and local, to high performing centralised teams.

ROLE SUMMARY:

 

The Digital Media Manager (SA) will lead the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of both organic and paid social media activities across Africa Region schools. This role requires a dynamic, forward-thinking professional capable of building brand equity, driving community engagement, and supporting student enrolment. The ideal candidate will blend high-level strategic relationship management with hands-on content creation and technical campaign optimization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Strategy, Governance and Best Practice

  • Build and develop a regional "centre of excellence" to champion progressive, effective social media strategies across all regional schools.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of school and corporate social media accounts, ensuring a clear channel framework between central and local school activities.
  • Collaborate with the global Head of Social to implement group directives, share regional best practices, and find operational efficiencies.

 

2. Content Creation & Campaign Management

  • Partner with schools and the marketing team to write, edit, and produce consistent, high-quality visual and written assets (images, short-form videos, and articles).
  • Ensure organic social media efforts are fully integrated with paid digital campaigns to build brand equity and support school leadership priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Performance Marketing team to build, optimize, and execute Paid Social Campaigns across Meta (Facebook & Instagram) to maximize ROI.

 

3. Community Management & Moderation

  • Oversee regional online communities, ensuring all customer queries and comments across social channels and review platforms (e.g., Google, School Parrot) are answered timely.
  • Moderate user-generated content and escalate sensitive, controversial, or high-risk communications to appropriate stakeholders immediately.

 

4. Enablement, Innovation & Reporting

  • Train and empower local school "social media champions" to capture and supplement central organic content effectively..
  • Track, analyze, and deliver deep-dive weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports evaluating key performance metrics (KPIs) such as brand awareness, engagement, retention, and paid campaign ROI.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

•    Minimum 3–5+ years of proven experience managing organic and paid social media platforms, ideally within a multi-national or matrixed environment. 
•    University Degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. 
•    Comprehensive hands-on experience managing and optimizing channels across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. 
•    Proven track record activating, targeting, and optimizing Paid Social Ads via Meta Business Suite. 
•    Advanced copywriting, proofreading, and storytelling abilities with meticulous attention to detail. 
•    Proficiency in utilizing social media scheduling, listening, and analytical reporting tools. 
•    Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects) and online design suites like Canva. 
•    Strong mastery of Microsoft Office tools. 
•    Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills to collaborate across global teams and school environments. 
•    Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines. 
•    Accountable, performance-driven, and able to maintain absolute calm and professionalism in stressful or high-stakes crisis-management situations.
