ROLE SUMMARY:

ACG School Jakarta is a private, independent, co-educational Kindergarten to Year 13 day school located in South Jakarta, Indonesia. As a member of the Inspired Education Group—operating over 125 premium schools worldwide—and the Council of International Schools (CIS), the school offers a holistic and academically rigorous pathway through the Cambridge curriculum (Lower Secondary and IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

We are seeking a caring, reflective, and student-centred Part-Time Christian Teacher who can support students’ spiritual growth through engaging and values-based learning experiences. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and inclusive environment, encourage meaningful discussion and reflection, and inspire students to develop compassion, integrity, and respect for others within a diverse international school community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities – Part-Time Christian Teacher

  • Plan and deliver engaging Christian Education lessons that are age-appropriate, inclusive, and aligned with the school’s values and curriculum expectations.

  • Foster students’ spiritual, moral, and personal development through meaningful learning experiences, discussion, and reflection.

  • Create a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and positive relationships.

  • Promote values such as compassion, integrity, empathy, and respect within a diverse international school community.

  • Support students in developing critical thinking and ethical understanding through biblical and contemporary perspectives.

  • Assess and monitor student learning progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents where appropriate.

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, pastoral teams, and school leadership to support student wellbeing and holistic education.

  • Participate in relevant school activities, assemblies, celebrations, and community events related to Christian Education and character development.

  • Maintain accurate records of lesson planning, attendance, and student progress in accordance with school policies.

  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of ACG School Jakarta while demonstrating professionalism and cultural sensitivity at all times.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A recognised teaching qualification in Education, Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field.

  • Previous teaching experience in Christian Education, Religious Studies, or a school-based teaching role.

  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.

  • The ability to plan and deliver meaningful, age-appropriate, and values-based lessons.

  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

  • A collaborative and professional approach to working with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • An understanding of and respect for working within a diverse international school community.

  • A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and holistic education.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills appropriate for a part-time teaching role.

  • A passion for supporting students’ spiritual, moral, and personal development through positive and inclusive teaching practices.
