ROLE SUMMARY:

ACG School Jakarta is a private, independent day school in South Jakarta, Indonesia. It offers education from Kindergarten to Year 13. The school is part of the Inspired Education Group, which has 119 schools around the world, serving over 90,000 students. ACG School Jakarta is recognized by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is governed by a foundation registered with the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture.

 

Founded in 2004, ACG School Jakarta has expanded from a small primary school to a full international institution. The school can enroll students from Indonesia and other countries. Its location is convenient for families working in embassies and multinational corporations. ACG School has a non-selective admission policy to welcome both expatriates and local families, representing about 35 nationalities. English is the main language of instruction.

 

ACG Jakarta has modern facilities that create a safe environment for over 350 students studying IB and Cambridge courses. The campus includes 30 classrooms, two science labs, a library, a padel court, music and art rooms, and a prayer room to support the diverse community values. ACG Jakarta is a vibrant place for students, families, and staff, with a focus on sustainability and entrepreneurship, promoting both local and global action.

 

We are currently looking for a dedicated Librarian to join our team right away. The Librarian will manage and organize various information resources in the library. This role includes acquiring, cataloging, and maintaining physical and digital resources. Librarians help users by providing reference services, conducting research, teaching information literacy, and encouraging a love for reading and learning. They work closely with educators, students, and staff to meet academic and community needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collection Management: Curate and maintain a diverse collection of books, digital resources, journals, and other media to meet the educational, informational, and recreational needs of library users.

  • Research Assistance: Help library users locate resources, perform research, and develop effective research strategies, both digitally and physically.

  • Information Literacy Education: Teach students and library users how to access, evaluate, and use information responsibly and efficiently, with a focus on both traditional and digital media.

  • Technology Integration: Manage library technologies, including cataloging systems, digital resources, and educational tools, while staying updated on new tech trends that enhance library services.

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service to library patrons, answering questions, resolving issues, and creating a welcoming environment.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, students, and school administrators (in educational settings) or community members (in public libraries) to ensure library resources align with their needs and goals.

  • Programming and Outreach: Organize programs, workshops, events, or reading initiatives to engage the community and encourage literacy, learning, and creative exploration.

  • Administrative Duties: Manage library budgets, track usage statistics, and maintain records of library materials and services.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Qualified Librarian
  • Ideally a minimum 3 years’ experience as librarian, preferably within a school environment
  • IB PYP, IGCSE, and IBDP Schools experience an advantage
