ROLE SUMMARY:

ACG School Jakarta is a private, independent, co-educational Kindergarten to Year 13 day school located in South Jakarta, Indonesia. As a member of the Inspired Education Group—operating over 125 premium schools worldwide—and the Council of International Schools (CIS), the school offers a holistic and academically rigorous pathway through the Cambridge curriculum (Lower Secondary and IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

Our modern campus features 30 classrooms, two science laboratories, a library, music and art facilities, and a Musholla (Prayer Room), reflecting our commitment to cultural respect and student wellbeing, inquiry, and academic excellence.

We are seeking an energetic, reflective, and student-centred Global Perspectives Teacher who can deliver high-quality, inquiry-driven learning. The ideal candidate will embrace holistic education, foster critical thinking, and empower students to explore global issues, develop research and communication skills, and become active, informed global citizens.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Global Perspectives Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons that develop students’ skills in research, analysis, evaluation, reflection, collaboration, and communication. The teacher will cultivate a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, open-mindedness, and respect for diverse perspectives.

Beyond classroom teaching, all ACG School Jakarta teachers are expected to contribute to the wider school community through:

    • Serving as an Advisory (homeroom) teacher and supporting students’ pastoral and academic development
    • Leading or assisting with Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs)
    • Participating in field trips, excursions, and the Residential Learning Programme
    • Engaging in department meetings, professional learning, and collaborative planning
    • Supporting Open Days, community events, marketing initiatives, and parent information sessions
    • Ensuring alignment with Cambridge and IB standards, including assessment and moderation practices
    • Promoting the school’s mission, vision, and values through professional practice

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A relevant university degree and a recognised teaching qualification (required)
  • Experience teaching Global Perspectives, Humanities, or related subjects
  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based and interdisciplinary teaching approaches
  • Experience facilitating research, discussion, and project-based learning
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to developing students’ critical thinking and global awareness
  • Strong organisational skills and experience using data to inform teaching and learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural environment
  • Full teacher registration (or eligibility for registration)
  • A commitment to holistic education, student wellbeing, and international-mindedness
