ROLE SUMMARY:

 

Colegio Mestral Ibiza is seeking a part-time English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher to support students in Secondary and Bachillerato. The role focuses on developing students’ academic English and supporting access to the curriculum in a multilingual environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging EAL lessons tailored to students’ language levels

  • Support students’ academic literacy (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)

  • Work collaboratively with subject teachers to support curriculum access

  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted feedback

  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations where relevant

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • University degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field

  • Recognised EAL/ESL qualification (e.g. CELTA, DELTA, PGCE, or equivalent)

  • Experience teaching EAL at Secondary and/or Bachillerato level

  • Strong understanding of language acquisition and differentiation strategies

  • High level of English proficiency; Spanish an advantage
