ROLE SUMMARY:

All EIS teachers should display motivation, life-long learner attributes, and excellent interpersonal skills as they meet the challenges of educating students from diverse international and host country backgrounds. The classroom environment should be well planned and organized, be stimulating, and engaging, providing high quality instruction and learning, underpinned by the ability to deliver inquiry-based, transdisciplinary units, where applicable, across the three IB programmes.
All teachers need to work collaboratively with others in their section, and across sections, and liaise effectively with the IB Coordinators, in the development implementation and review of the curriculum, assessment and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver engaging, inquiry-based Maths instruction for IBDP (Analysis and Approaches HL) and MYP (Extended) students.
- Design and implement lessons that foster conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and real-world application
- Support students in developing strong mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills aligned with IB standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment, and moderation.
- Provide academic guidance, feedback, and exam preparation support to ensure student success.
- Contribute to the school’s academic and co-curricular life through involvement in events, clubs, or enrichment activities.
- Undertaking additional duties as required by the Head of Section.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and teaching certification in Mathematics
- At least 3-year experience in international schools
- Successful experience in teaching IBMYP, IBDP is preferred
- Evidence of continued relevant professional development
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communicator in both spoken and written English
- Independent, proactive and collegial by nature
