All EIS teachers should display motivation, life-long learner attributes, and excellent interpersonal skills as they meet the challenges of educating students from diverse international and host country backgrounds. The classroom environment should be well planned and organized, be stimulating, and engaging, providing high quality instruction and learning, underpinned by the ability to deliver inquiry-based, transdisciplinary units, where applicable, across the three IB programmes.
All teachers need to work collaboratively with others in their section, and across sections, and liaise effectively with the IB Coordinators, in the development implementation and review of the curriculum, assessment and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Assist in planning & implementing the teaching programs under direction of teacher, which includes lesson plan.
● Prepare lesson materials, lesson outlines (bulletin board displays, exhibit, equipment and demonstrations), various teaching aids (bibliographies, charts and graphs) or other necessary documents using at school.
● Organize and supervise games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental and social development.
● Supervise students in classrooms, halls, canteen, library, school yards, swimming pool and gymnasiums, etc. or on field trips to ensure safety at all times.
● Observe students’ performance, record relevant data and report to teacher for assessment progress.
● Take class attendance and keep attendance records
● Distribute tests and homework assignments, collect them, grade homework and tests, compute and record results.
● Provide extra assistance to students with special needs, such as non-German-speaking or non-English-speaking students, or those with physical and mental disabilities.
● Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipments (esp. laptop, smart boards, etc.) and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
● Organize and keep teaching equipment and materials be available and in good operating condition.
● Support teacher for preparing and organizing school events.
● Attend teacher-parents conference, staff meeting or serve on committees as required.
● Assist in bus loading and unloading, library
● Is punctual to school, to lessons and to duties.
● Cooperates with school administration and demonstrates an alignment with school philosophy, policies, procedures, and administrative regulations.
● Promotes the positive public image of the school.
● Refrains from statements or activities that might bring the school into disrepute and refrains from criticizing GIS or any member of the school community to third parties.
● Undertake other duties from time to time as required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
● Vietnamese.
● Bachelor/ College Degree in Education or Teaching Certificate
● Good English language proficiency.
● At least 3-year experience in teaching groups of children from 2 to 6 years old.
● Excellent communication, teaching and interpersonal skills.
● Enthusiastic about working in an international environment.
● Experience of Primary Years Programme (PYP) would be desirable.
