ROLE SUMMARY:
The British International School, founded in 1981, is a private co-educational school providing an excellent, high quality bilingual curriculum in Pre-School, Primary and Secondary, as well as an optimal learning environment. As part of our teaching team, we are looking an outstanding and dynamic French teacher to be in post ready for 7th January 2025.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality French lessons for middle and high school students, following the IB curriculum for both Standard and Higher levels.
- Develop and implement initiatives to encourage student; interest in the French language and culture, promoting literacy and communication skills.
- Organise and oversee French-related extracurricular activities, such as language clubs, cultural events, and immersion programs, to deepen students, engagement with the language.
- Contributing to departmental improvement, including reviewing and updating the curriculum, methods of learning & teaching.
- Ensuring that lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of individual pupils, including additional challenge and support as required.
- Promoting and managing positive behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, welfare and safety in every moment and to develop within them positive attitudes towards peers, adults, property and schoolwork.
- Behave professionally concerning punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, students’ homework and maintaining confidentiality of information
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in foreign language or related careers
- Software management (Word, Excel, Power Point, Google)
- Level C1 French Language and B1 English Language
- 2 years of experience teaching French or in related positions
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of the IB programmes is desirable
