ROLE SUMMARY:

St. George’s International School in Switzerland, part of the Inspired Education Group, is a leading day and boarding school located on the shores of Lake Geneva in Montreux. What is the key purpose of the position? As a French Teacher, the role is to deliver high-quality language instruction across the secondary school, inspiring students to achieve fluency, cultural awareness, and a lifelong love of languages while contributing to the school’s tradition of academic excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Demonstrate an international mindset and collaborate effectively in a multilingual and multicultural environment.

· Exhibit expertise and experience teaching IB French B and IGCSE French Language, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in teaching French A and Language and Literature French courses.

· Strive for excellence as a practitioner, with the drive and energy to inspire outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.

· Commit to raising standards by setting high expectations for students and personal performance.

· Approach challenges with a proactive, positive, calm, and flexible attitude.

· Demonstrate exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

· Attend parent-teacher/guardian conferences and meetings as required by the school.

· Write detailed and constructive reports on student progress in alignment with school policies.

· Participate in team meetings and engage with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and teaching strategies.

· Cover classes when necessary, in the absence of colleagues.

· Act as a role model for students and represent the school positively, adhering to its dress code and behavioral expectations.

· Promote a collaborative and supportive working environment, contributing as a dynamic team member.

· Support students as a tutor and form part of the pastoral fabric of the school.

· Offer a club as part of the extra-curricular programme.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

· Proven experience teaching IB French B and IGCSE French Language, with additional experience in French A and Language and Literature French courses preferred.

· Ability to set clear expectations and ambitious goals, adapting teaching styles based on feedback to ensure optimal student outcomes.

· In-depth understanding of English language curricula and a track record of delivering engaging, high-quality lessons.

· Strong assessment skills to evaluate student progress and provide actionable feedback to enhance performance.

· Excellent preparation and planning skills, with confidence in integrating ICT into teaching.

· Genuine care and attention to student welfare, ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment.

· A minimum of a university degree and certified teaching status, with appropriate right-to-work documentation.

· Previous experience teaching Senior and Middle School students (aged 10-18 years) and confidence in managing diverse classroom dynamics.

· Unwavering commitment to student development and a passion for fostering a love for English.
