The key purpose of this position is to deliver engaging and high-quality English instruction for Upper Elementary students, supporting the development of strong reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills.
We seek an exceptional Upper Elementary English Teacher with a passion for education, dedication, creativity, and strong experience in high-quality schools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills.
- Support strong academic progress by differentiating instruction to meet the needs, abilities, and interests of all students.
- Promote a love of language and literature through meaningful texts, creative writing, discussion, and inquiry-based learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress regularly, providing clear feedback and targeted support to help students improve.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident, valued, and motivated to participate.
- Encourage independence and responsibility by helping students build effective learning habits, organization, and confidence.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan learning experiences, share best practices, and contribute to the wider academic programme.
- Communicate constructively with parents to support each student’s academic, social, and emotional development.
- Contribute to school life through participation in school events, co-curricular activities, and whole-school initiatives.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A genuine passion for teaching English and inspiring upper elementary students.
- Strong knowledge of the English language, literacy, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing development.
- Experience teaching upper elementary students in a high-quality school environment.
- The ability to plan engaging, differentiated lessons that support a range of learning needs.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Experience assessing student progress and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A commitment to student wellbeing, pastoral care, and the development of confident, independent learners.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage planning, assessment, deadlines, and communication effectively.
- A relevant degree, teaching qualification, educational licence, PGCE, QTS, or equivalent.
- Energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and a flexible approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
