ROLE SUMMARY:

The British International School, founded in 1981, is a private co-educational school providing an excellent, high quality bilingual curriculum in Pre-School, Primary and Secondary, as well as an optimal learning environment. As part of our teaching team, we are looking an outstanding and dynamic drama teacher to be in post ready for 6th January 2025.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality drama lessons for middle and high school students, encouraging student creativity, self-expression, and collaboration through various drama techniques
  • Organise and direct drama performances, both in-class and as part of larger school productions or events.
  • Ensure the effective use of technology in teaching and learning activities.
  • Researching and creating new learning materials in line with the philosophies of the International Baccalaureate.
  • Contributing to departmental improvement, including reviewing and updating the curriculum, methods of learning & teaching.
  • Ensuring that lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of individual pupils, including additional challenge and support as required.
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills, including the meeting of all deadlines.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of drama, language or related careers
  • Experience directing or organising school performances or productions
  • Software management (Word, Excel, Power Point, Google)
  • Level B2 English Language                    
  • 2 years of experience in related positions       
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Knowledge of the IB programmes is desirable
