Director of Sports (AY 2026-2027)

ROLE SUMMARY:

Australian International School (AIS) Saigon, a renowned international, co-educational K-13 school in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has been educating young men and women for more than 16 years.

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Director of Sports to join our international learning community. The Director of Sports provides strategic leadership and direction for the school’s sports and physical education programmes across all divisions. This role ensures that the sports curriculum, co-curricular activities, and competitive programmes reflect the school’s mission, promote student wellbeing, and align with the standards of the Cambridge and IB frameworks. The ideal candidate is a visionary and collaborative educator who inspires excellence, inclusion, and a lifelong commitment to health and physical activity among students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and develop the school’s PE and sports programmes across Primary and Secondary levels.
• Ensure alignment with IB and Cambridge curriculum standards.
• Oversee sports staff, coaching programmes, and student athletic development.
• Organize and promote intra- and inter-school competitions and sports events.
• Manage sports facilities, budgets, and safety standards.
• Foster a positive culture of health, teamwork, and sportsmanship across the school community.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Management, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid registration or licensing in PE/Sports Science teaching, with eligibility to work legally in Vietnam;
• Additional certification in sports leadership, athletic administration, or coaching is an advantag
• Minimum 3-5 years of teaching and leadership experience in sports or physical education, preferably in an IB and/or Cambridge international school setting.
• Strong background in curriculum design, team leadership, and event organization.
• Proven ability to promote student wellbeing, sportsmanship, and inclusive participation.
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
