ROLE SUMMARY:
The International School of Como, an IB World School, is seeking to appoint an exceptional full-time Humanities teachers to join our expanding Secondary school from August 2025.
The International School of Como (ISC) is entering an exciting phase of growth under newly appointed Executive Principal Philipa Smithson. An expansion project will increase student numbers from 400 to 700, creating new career opportunities and enhancing campus facilities. Located in Fino Mornasco, 6km south of Lake Como, ISC’s purpose-built campus features modern science labs, a well-resourced library, studios for the arts, and dedicated early years spaces supporting our Reggio-Inspired Curriculum. Currently, ISC serves nearly 400 students from 45+ nationalities with a team of 70+ faculty and staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To prepare, provide and review class or subject based activities that maximize opportunities for student learning.
- To plan lessons by agreed deadlines in agreed formats and to ensure that copies of planning are available to interested parties.
- To show good subject knowledge and to share this with other staff when appropriate.
- To provide a stimulating ordered classroom environment where time and resources are used well.
- To respond promptly and constructively to pupils’ work.
- To involve students in the target setting process.
- To set homework that consolidates and extends classroom learning and that is based on individual need.
- To ensure the good behaviour of students and to develop within them positive attitudes towards peers, adults, property and school work.
- To maintain effective records of pupil progress and to ensure the transfer of up to date records when pupils change classes or school.
- To develop and maintain a good home-school partnership; to consult with and inform parents of the progress, attainment and attitudes of their children.
- To contribute to a whole school team approach.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Essential:
- Trained with qualified teacher status
- Bachelor's Degree
- Exceptional level of English language
- Secondary school teaching experience (Humanities)
- Right to work in the EU
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the IB programmes
- Master’s or post graduate qualification
