ROLE SUMMARY:
We are looking for a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our excellent Primary team. The successful candidate will work as a member of our Learning Support team, mostly in our Early Years section. The role will include 1:1 and small group work with children with specific learning and/or behavioural needs. Given the age of the children, not all will yet have diagnoses and a vital part of the role will be to think up and implement strategies to enable children to access the curriculum and engage with peers in pro-social ways. Your assessment and feedback will be essential in the process of working with outside agencies to obtain diagnoses where appropriate.
A genuine love of working with children and interest in the diverse ways in which children learn are essential. The successful candidate will be flexible, adaptive to children’s needs and have excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through their interactions with children, colleagues and families.
