ROLE SUMMARY:

King's College School, Panama is a British international school in Clayton, Panama City, Panama for students aged 2 to 18 years old.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Doctor to provide comprehensive healthcare services to students and support the overall health and well-being of the school community. The School Doctor will work closely with school leadership, parents, and external healthcare providers to promote a safe and healthy learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct medical assessments and provide healthcare services to students as needed.
Monitor and manage student health records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate treatment or referrals.
Develop and implement policies and procedures related to student health and safety.
Advise school leadership on health-related matters, including communicable diseases and public health concerns.
Collaborate with parents, guardians, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs.
Conduct health screenings and preventive care programs.
Support students with chronic medical conditions.
Promote health education and wellness initiatives for students and staff.
Ensure compliance with local healthcare regulations, safeguarding standards, and school health policies.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Medical Expertise – Strong clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills in pediatric or family medicine.

Communication Skills – Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and healthcare professionals.

Emergency Response Capability – Ability to assess and manage urgent medical situations calmly and effectively.

Organizational Skills – Strong record-keeping, documentation, and case management abilities.

Interpersonal Skills – Compassionate, approachable, and able to build trust with students and families.

Qualifications:

Medical Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Experience in pediatrics, family medicine or school-based healthcare preferred.
Medical licence in good standing.
Current certification in Basic Life Support and/or Advanced Life Support.
Knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and public health practices.
