ROLE SUMMARY:

Established in 2012, King's College School, Panama, was the first British curriculum school in the country. We are proud that our students are pioneers of British education in the region, and even prouder of the exemplary education we continue to offer our growing learning community. As a diverse and inclusive international school, we educate 350 students from 37 nationalities, aged 2 to 18, who attend the Pre-Nursery division to Sixth Form.

The role of a primary school teacher is to educate and motivate children, using creative resources to contribute to their development. As teachers, applicants for this role contribute to the development of academic skills but also social skills. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • preparing teaching materials ahead of each lesson and teaching lessons
  • organising the classroom, its display and the resources used
  • evaluating pupils’ homework
  • keeping an eye on each child’s progress
  • working with other educational professionals such as social workers or psychologists
  • communicating with parents
  • keeping up to date with the curriculum and best practices.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

To be successful in this role, candidates should have a passion for working with children and inspiring them. As a teacher of children from age six to eleven, a primary school teacher is best placed to help them gain knowledge and achieve their full potential.

As an British Curriculum, we especially welcome expressions of interest from teachers with previous IB experience. However, we also welcome applications from well-qualified teachers who are committed to high standards, interested in using innovative approaches to learning, and enthusiastic about promoting international understanding.

  • Bilingual (english and spanish)
  • possession of a relevant university degree and an appropriate teaching qualification;

  • Recent experience successfully teaching the primary age range;

  • Enthusiasm and passion for their job, with the ability to motivate students of all abilities.
