ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College School Panama is a world-class international private school in Clayton, Panama, bordering the beautiful Panamanian rainforest and conveniently located near the vibrant city centre.
The Music Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality music education aligned with the National Curriculum for England, fostering creativity, performance skills and a lifelong appreciation of music. The role includes classroom teaching, performance direction and contribution to the wider cultural life of the school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and deliver engaging music lessons in line with the English National Curriculum and/or GCSE/A Level specifications (if applicable).

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including EAL and SEND pupils.

Prepare pupils for performances, concerts and school productions.

Lead or support extracurricular music activities (choirs, ensembles, bands).

Assess, record and report on pupil progress in line with school assessment policy.

Prepare students for external examinations where applicable (e.g., GCSE, A Level, ABRSM).

Contribute to whole-school events and enrichment activities.

Maintain and manage music resources and equipment effectively.

Promote inclusion and equal access to performance opportunities.

Uphold safeguarding, health and safety and school policies at all times.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree in Music or related field.

Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE with QTS or equivalent).

Experience teaching within the British curriculum (desirable).

Strong instrumental/vocal proficiency.
-
Experience preparing students for performances and/or examinations.
-
Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.
