ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College School, Cascais is seeking a dynamic and passionate Pre-Engineering and STEAM Teacher + Monitor to support our Summer Camps. The successful candidate will deliver the assembly of a Bufori EViE Kart and lead STEAM project-based learning for students aged 9 and above.
The programme runs across two 2-week camp sessions within a 4-week period, from 24 June - 25 July 2026, alongside monitoring and student wellbeing duties, including supporting evening activities and excursions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver engaging, hands-on pre-engineering and STEAM sessions for students aged 9+, including facilitating the Bufori EViE Kart assembly and STEAM project kit activities.
- Plan, develop and adapt lesson content and learning outcomes (shared with parents), working with the programme coordinator to structure each 2-week session.
- Differentiate learning to meet varied skill levels, assess progress in technological design abilities, and provide constructive feedback.
- Supervise and support student wellbeing (10–15 students aged 9–17), maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive environment and supporting evening activities.
- Complete required safeguarding training/modules, follow camp guidelines and timetable, and uphold health & safety expectations.
- Participate in staff duty rotations (e.g., breaks/meals, pool supervision, night monitoring) and support excursions, airport transfers and staff meetings as required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A degree in engineering, computer science, or new technologies.
- Strong background in engineering and STEAM.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in curriculum delivery (advantageous).
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
- English native speaker level (Advanced/Proficiency C1–C2) (required).
- Valid permission to work within the EU.
- Criminal record certificate (issued within the last 3 months).
- CV with a picture attached in the upper right-hand corner.
- Scanned copies of degrees and certificates.
- Two reference letters.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise tasks and activities.
- Creativity and ability to encourage innovation.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
