ROLE SUMMARY:
King's College School, Cascais, part of the prestigious Inspired Education Group, is a leading international school in the Lisbon area. We offer a global education through the Cambridge International curriculum up to Year 10, complemented by a bilingual programme in Portuguese and English for students up to Year 5. Our commitment to academic excellence and holistic development prepares students for success in top universities worldwide. We are seeking a well-qualified and passionate Secondary School Science Teacher to join our team from January 2026 (flexible). The role focuses on teaching Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, with the potential to expand to Key Stage 4 and the IB Diploma Programme from 2026 onwards. Science is taught holistically at King’s, incorporating Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, supported by excellent laboratory facilities and a dedicated full-time technician. This is a full-time, permanent position within a strong and collaborative Science department committed to hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver engaging, interactive lessons across Key Stages 2 and 3, integrating Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Inspire curiosity and scientific thinking through practical, inquiry-based learning.

Plan, assess, and monitor student progress to ensure high achievement for all learners.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science curriculum.

Collaborate with colleagues and the full-time technician to deliver high-quality lab experiences.

Participate actively in the pastoral life of the school.

Support co-curricular clubs, enrichment activities, and science events.

Promote the school’s values and culture of academic excellence.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A degree in Science or a related field and certified teaching status.

Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 2 and/or 3.

Strong knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous professional growth.
