ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College School, Cascais is a modern and thriving international school offering a British-style education in a vibrant, purpose-built campus. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Primary Humanities Teacher to join our Upper Primary team from August 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to guide students through a rich Humanities curriculum that sparks curiosity about the world around them.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in History, Geography, and Global Citizenship for upper primary students

Inspire critical thinking and discussion around historical events, cultural diversity, and global challenges

Create engaging cross-curricular links with other subjects, such as English, Science, and the Arts

Use a range of assessment strategies to track progress and adapt teaching accordingly

Promote literacy and research skills through meaningful inquiry and project work

Collaborate with the wider team to ensure curriculum continuity and shared best practice

Build positive relationships with students and create an inclusive, supportive learning environment

Contribute to school life beyond the classroom through clubs, trips, and assemblies
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE or equivalent)

Experience teaching Humanities at primary level, ideally in a British or international school

A strong understanding of child development and inquiry-based learning
-
Creative and adaptable teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs

A collaborative and reflective approach to teaching and learning

Enthusiasm for promoting international-mindedness and intercultural understanding

Excellent spoken and written English

EU passport or eligibility to work in Portugal is an advantage
