ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King's College School, Cascais, part of the prestigious Inspired Education Group, is a leading international school in the Lisbon area. We offer a global education through the Cambridge International curriculum up to Year 10, complemented by a bilingual programme in Portuguese and English for students up to Year 5. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Drama Teacher to join our team, starting in August 2025.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop and implement a dynamic drama curriculum for primary students, fostering creativity and self-expression.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Organize and direct school productions, workshops, and performances, encouraging student participation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate drama into the broader curriculum and support cross-curricular projects.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and teamwork.
  • Engage with parents and the school community to showcase student achievements in drama.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in drama education.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field, along with a recognized teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching drama at the primary level, preferably within an international or bilingual school setting.
  • A passion for drama and the ability to inspire young learners to explore their creative potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; proficiency in Portuguese is an advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and contribute to the school's extracurricular programmes.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to contribute to the school's dynamic and evolving culture.
