Mathematics Teacher

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and well-qualified Teacher of Mathematics to join our expanding Middle and Senior school faculty at King's College School, Cascais. The successful candidate will deliver world-class mathematics education across our international curriculum pathways, fostering deep analytical skills, inquiry-based problem-solving, and a genuine passion for the subject. You will inspire students to achieve their maximum potential in external public examinations within an elite, state-of-the-art educational environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Mathematics lessons mapped to the Cambridge International curriculum (KS3, IGCSE) and advanced senior pathways (A-Levels and/or IBDP).
• Differentiate learning strategies to challenge high-achieving students and support individual academic needs within an inclusive framework.
• Maintain exceptional standards of classroom discipline, creating a safe, respectful, and purpose-driven learning environment.
• Integrate educational technology, specialized software, and modern physical mathematical resources into daily lessons.
• Implement continuous formative and summative assessments to strictly monitor, track, and record student progress against ambitious targets.
• Partner closely with House/Pastoral teams, act as a Form Tutor, and maintain proactive, professional communication with parents.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through Mathematics/STEM enrichment clubs, house competitions, and school trips.
• University degree in English (or related field) alongside a recognized teaching qualification.
• Proven experience successfully leading or managing an English department.
• Essential experience teaching IGCSE English.
• Ability to teach advanced curricula, specifically IBDP English A and/or A-Level English Literature.
• Strong networker capable of collaborating with post-holders across the global Inspired group.
• Full commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) and updating faculty curriculum knowledge.
• Compliance with school policies, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding frameworks.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• University degree in Mathematics or a related field, alongside a recognized international teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).
• Proven experience preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE and advanced levels (with potential to develop or teach IB Maths AA Higher Level and/or Further Maths A-Level being highly advantageous).
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to inspire trust and confidence across a multicultural school community.
• Dedication to continuous professional development (CPD) and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within dynamic academic teams.
• Complete compliance with school policies, health and safety standards, and safer recruitment protocols.
