We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join our team in August 2025. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Teach Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to primary school students, focusing on early language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
  • Deliver engaging, interactive lessons in one or more foreign languages, with an emphasis on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
  • Foster a love for language learning by incorporating creative teaching strategies, such as games, music, and cultural activities.
  • Create differentiated lesson plans to meet the diverse learning needs and levels of language proficiency within the class.
  • Regularly assess and report on student progress, providing feedback to support their language development.
  • Integrate technology and digital tools into lessons to enhance language learning and student engagement.
  • Organise and participate in language-focused events, such as language days, cultural festivals, or trips to promote linguistic and cultural immersion.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to create interdisciplinary projects that integrate language learning with other subjects.
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programs, such as language clubs or conversational practice groups.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and encourage language practice outside the classroom.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related field with a recognised teaching qualification.
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience, ideally in an international or British school, with a focus on primary language teaching.
  • Fluency in one or more foreign languages (French and / or Spanish) and the ability to teach primary-aged students.
  • A passion for language learning and fostering a love for languages in young learners.
  • Experience with language teaching methodologies, such as immersion or communicative approaches, and familiarity with early language acquisition strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • A collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with colleagues and integrate language learning into other subjects.
  • Creativity and flexibility to engage students in a multicultural, dynamic learning environment.
  • A commitment to professional development and staying current with the latest trends in language education.
  • Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities and support the school’s language program.
