ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College School, Cascais, as part of the Inspired Education Group, maintains rigorous academic standards and a world-class reputation. As the Exams Officer & Secondary Academic Support, you are the custodian of the school’s academic integrity. You will lead the logistical planning of all internal and external examinations (Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, etc.) while simultaneously supporting the Secondary faculty in tracking student performance and providing intervention support to help students excel in their final years of schooling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exams Management: Act as the primary point of contact for international exam boards. Manage the entire exam lifecycle: entries, secure paper storage, invigilation scheduling, and the secure dispatch of scripts.
- Results & Data: Coordinate the distribution of results and manage the post-results services (appeals, re-marks). Maintain the school’s Management Information System (iSAMS) for academic data.
- Access Arrangements: Work closely with the Learning Support (SEN) department to ensure students requiring special accommodations (extra time, laptops) are correctly registered and supported.
- Academic Intervention: Support Secondary teachers by identifying students underperforming in specific subjects and providing 1-on-1 or small group academic coaching.
- Study Skills: Assist in the delivery of "Study Skills" workshops, helping students master revision techniques and time management for high-stakes testing.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Language Skills: Near-native or native English fluency is essential, as all exam board communication and Secondary instruction are in English.
- Technical Proficiency: Exceptional organizational skills and high-level Excel/Data management skills. Experience with iSAMS or similar school databases is a major advantage.
- Experience: Previous experience in school administration or as an Exams Officer in a British International School is highly desirable.
- Personal Qualities: Absolute attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under the pressure of deadlines, and a professional "firm but fair" approach with students.
