ROLE SUMMARY:

King's College School, Cascais, part of the prestigious Inspired Education Group, is a leading international school in the Lisbon area. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Bilingual Primary English Teacher to deliver a high-quality, integrated English-Portuguese curriculum. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Teach engaging, inquiry-based lessons that integrate English with core primary subjects, fostering foundational literacy, phonics, and creative writing skills.
  • Collaboration & Pedagogy: Partner closely with Portuguese lead teachers to align cross-curricular themes, ensuring a seamless bilingual experience and using data to provide scaffolded support for diverse learners.
  • Classroom & Pastoral Care: Maintain a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports socio-emotional growth, helping young learners build confidence in a dual-language setting.
  • Community: Proactively engage with parents to support the home-school language connection and contribute to the vibrant life of the primary school community.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Qualifications: A recognized teaching qualification (BEd, PGCE, or equivalent) with a specific focus on Primary Education or Early Years.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching the primary curriculum, ideally within bilingual or international settings, with a strong understanding of EAL (English as an Additional Language) strategies.
  • Language & Tech: Native or near-native English proficiency, with a deep understanding of phonics instruction and the ability to integrate educational technology to enhance interactive learning.
  • Attributes: Exceptional communication skills, a nurturing and patient approach, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively in a co-teaching environment.
