ROLE SUMMARY:
Reddam House Helderfontein is seeking a committed and creative Early Learning and Junior Prep Art & Dance Teacher to join our school in January 2026. This full-time teaching role focuses on inspiring young learners through engaging, nurturing, and high-quality Art and Dance education within our Early Learning School (ELS) and Junior Prep (JP) phases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating Art and Dance lessons suited to young learners.
- Create a nurturing, engaging, and positive classroom environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism in punctuality, communication, and standards of work.
- Continuously reflect on and refine teaching practice, engaging in school-wide professional development.
- Produce high-quality learning resources.
- Respond to parent communication within 24 hours.
- Support and uphold the values and expectations of Reddam House.
- Attend school events and contribute to assessment, marking, and report writing.
- Undertake additional reasonable duties assigned by the School Head/Line Manager.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Early Learning or Junior Prep students.
- Strong understanding of child development and early years education.
- Confidence using ICT in teaching.
- A university degree in a relevant subject and certified teaching status.
- A passion for the Arts and Dance, with the ability to inspire creativity in young learners.
- Excellent organisational skills and a positive, improvement-focused mindset.
- A caring, professional, and collaborative approach to teaching.
- Ability to work closely with a Teaching Assistant and colleagues.
- (Desirable) Experience in Reggio Emilia methodology or experience teaching very young learners.
