ROLE SUMMARY:
The Aftercare Manager works to ensure that children in Grades 4 – 7 enjoy a happy, facilitated afternoon at school. Homework is to be completed and the children are entitled to playtime either inside the classroom or on the playground. They may ask for guidance and support from the relevant Deputies and Grade Heads at all times and they report directly to the Head of School.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise designated children throughout the Aftercare session each afternoon.
• Maintain the Attendance Register.
• Ensure children attend their registered extra murals and return afterward.
• Facilitate homework completion in a structured and peaceful environment.
• Liaise with class/register teachers regarding homework, assignments and children’s progress.
• Identify and report any learning difficulties or emotional challenges a child may be facing.
• Provide emotional support when needed.
• Communicate with parents regarding homework and any concerns.
• Support and resolve conflicts that may arise between children.
• Ensure children are safe, happy and well cared for during Aftercare.
• Assist with any tasks requested by the school or Head.
• Attend parent meetings with teachers and the Head when necessary.
• Participate in meetings relevant to Aftercare operations.
• Assist in planning after-school activities, the extra mural program and the Holiday Programme.
• Oversee stock control and quality management.
• Communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to planning healthy eating initiatives.
• Demonstrate a commitment to education and uphold the values and ethos of the school.
• Plan, prepare and present engaging activities.
• Foster a nurturing teaching environment that promotes active learning.
• Maintain professionalism in punctuality, behaviour and work standards.
• Develop high-quality resources for children.
• Show loyalty to all aspects of Reddam House.
• Conduct continuous assessments and other forms of evaluation.
• Perform any other reasonable tasks as determined by the School Head or line manager.

Qualifications and Accreditations:
- Matric
- Appropriate right to work
- Experience working with primary school children in a similar role and a qualification in Education - Primary School would be a recommendation.
