ROLE SUMMARY:

 

Reddam House Constantia is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Preparatory School Drama Teacher (Grades 1–7) to join the school from 1 January 2026 on a full-time, permanent basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Drama lessons.
  • Create a nurturing learning environment that encourages creativity and participation.
  • Demonstrate professional standards in punctuality, communication, teaching practice and homework expectations.
  • Continuously reflect on and refine teaching practices and participate in school-wide professional development.
  • Teach extra lessons on two afternoons per week when required.
  • Produce high-quality learning resources.
  • Respond to parent emails and messages within 24 hours.
  • Support all school initiatives and attend special occasions as required by the Preparatory School Head.
  • Set and mark assessments, evaluate student work and write report comments.
  • Undertake any additional duties as reasonably required by the School Head or line manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Ability to set clear expectations and stretch learners to reach their full potential.
  • Adaptable teaching style with strong use of feedback.
  • Deep subject understanding and the ability to judge learning effectiveness.
  • Excellent preparation, planning and assessment practice.
  • Genuine care for student welfare and the highest teaching standards.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching primary-aged students.
  • Confidence using ICT effectively in teaching.
  • Experience teaching dramatic arts, public speaking and English.
  • University degree in a relevant subject and certified teaching status.
  • Strong organisational skills, passion for teaching, and a positive attitude to change.
