ROLE SUMMARY:

 

Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard is seeking a committed and inspiring College Mathematics Teacher to join the school from second term. The successful candidate will contribute to the school’s culture of excellence by creating an engaging learning environment, supporting students’ academic progress, and delivering high-quality teaching across Grades 7–12.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan prepare and present interesting and exciting Mathematics lessons.
  • Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing, and which promotes engaged learning.
  • Behave in a professional manner with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and students’ homework.
  • Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
  • Be open to continuously develop ones teaching through personal and school wide professional development.
  • Teach extra lessons, when required, on two afternoons per week.
  • Produce resources of a high standard for students.
  • Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 24 hours.
  • Show loyalty to all facets of Reddam House.
  • Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
  • Set and mark exams and all other forms of student evaluation.
  • Write report comments.
  • The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determine.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • Ability to set clear expectations and stretch goals for students.
  • An adaptable teaching style informed by feedback and reflective practice.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of Mathematics.
  • Excellent planning, preparation, and assessment skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and maintaining high educational standards.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching secondary or post-16 students.
  • Confidence using ICT in teaching.
  • University degree in a relevant subject.
  • Certified Teaching Status and appropriate right to work.
  • SACE registration.
  • Personal attributes including: passion for teaching, excellent organisational skills, a positive attitude to change, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable:

  • Experience with the IEB programme.
  • Previous experience in a high-performing international school.
