Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard is a premium private school in Green Point, Cape Town. ROLE SUMMARY:
Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard is seeking a committed and inspiring College Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy Teacher to join the school from 1 January 2026. The successful candidate will contribute to the school’s culture of excellence by creating an engaging learning environment, supporting students’ academic progress, and delivering high-quality teaching across Grades 7–12.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning, preparing, and presenting engaging Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy lessons.
- Establishing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that promotes active engagement.
- Maintaining high standards of professional conduct regarding punctuality, behaviour, and academic expectations.
- Continually evaluating, reflecting on, and refining teaching practice.
- Providing extra lessons when required on two afternoons per week.
- Producing high-quality teaching resources for students.
- Responding to emails and messages from parents within 24 hours.
- Demonstrating loyalty to all facets of Reddam House.
- Attending school functions and special events as required by the Head.
- Setting and marking examinations and other forms of student assessment.
- Writing report comments.
- Undertaking any other reasonable tasks assigned by the School Head or line manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Ability to set clear expectations and stretch goals for students.
- An adaptable teaching style informed by feedback and reflective practice.
- Strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy.
- Excellent planning, preparation, and assessment skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and maintaining high educational standards.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching secondary or post-16 students.
- Confidence using ICT in teaching.
- University degree in a relevant subject.
- Certified Teaching Status and appropriate right to work.
- SACE registration.
- Personal attributes including: passion for teaching, excellent organisational skills, a positive attitude to change, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Desirable:
- Experience with the IEB programme.
- Previous experience in a high-performing international school.
