KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be an active and collaborative contributor within a dynamic team environment.
  • Consistently plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, IEB-aligned IT lessons that challenge and inspire.

  • Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes deep learning and student engagement.
  • Serve the wider school community with commitment and integrity.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in behaviour, punctuality, and standards of work.
  • Regularly evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice to ensure excellence.
  • Meet all required timelines for planning, assessment, and reporting.
  • Fulfil the role of Tutor Teacher, providing effective pastoral care and support to a designated group of students.
  • Set and mark assessments and all other forms of student evaluation effectively and consistently.
  • Write clear, informative, and constructive report comments.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as determined by the School Head or Deputy Head of Academics.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Minimum 3 years’ successful teaching experience at senior school level (Grades 10–12).
  • SACE registration, a recognised teaching qualification, and the legal right to work in South Africa.
  • Strong subject knowledge in IT / Computer Science with confident coding proficiency (e.g., Python, Java, web technologies).
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging, IEB-aligned IT lessons.
  • Confidence using school information systems (iSAMS) and solving day-to-day issues.
  • A track record of effective assessment, feedback, and reporting.
  • A reflective, growth-oriented approach to teaching practice.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and excellent communication and organisation.
  • A collaborative mindset and a positive contribution to the wider school community.
