ROLE SUMMARY:
St. Peter’s International School, located in Palmela near Lisbon, serves around 1,500 students from 4 months to 18 years on a modern 37,000 m² campus. The school offers a bilingual curriculum (Portuguese/English), Cambridge programmes, and the International Baccalaureate, alongside boarding options for older students. We are seeking a passionate and highly qualified Cambridge IGCSE Humanities Teacher to deliver the Cambridge IGCSE Humanities curriculum starting in August for the next academic year. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator committed to inspiring students, fostering critical thinking, and nurturing a love for Humanities subjects. Experience with the International Baccalaureate (MYP or DP) is also highly relevant and valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and deliver engaging, differentiated Humanities lessons for diverse learners.

Use innovative teaching methods, including inquiry-based learning and digital tools.

Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

Contribute to curriculum planning and integrate technology for enhanced learning.

Foster a respectful, inclusive classroom culture and support student well-being.

Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events and extracurricular activities.

Engage in ongoing professional development and uphold safeguarding policies.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A degree in Humanities, Education, or a related field (teaching qualification preferred).

Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Humanities subjects (e.g., Geography, History, Global Perspectives) or similar international curricula.

Relevant IB MYP or DP Humanities experience (highly valued).

Passion for inspiring students and promoting academic and personal growth.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Experience in an international or multicultural environment (preferred).

Strong command of English and commitment to student well-being.
