ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking an exceptional, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join King’s School The Crown as we experience growth in enrollment and expand our provision. Reporting to the SENDCo, the ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a passion for fostering outstanding learning outcomes and promoting a culture of excellence for both themselves and their students. The position is available for immediate start.
King’s School The Crown is built in extensive grounds offering world-class educational and sporting facilities, enabling students to pursue a diverse range of interests. Our purpose-Built Campus of over 40,000m2 located in the heart of Cairo's most prestigious gated community, The Crown, 6th October city. This school is the first in the region to cater to students from 3 months up to 18 years with state-of-the-art facilities, including: a full football field, 400m athletic track , 25m 8 lane covered swimming pool with learner pool, indoor multi-purpose sports hall, outdoor multipurpose courts and a 522 seat Performing Arts theatre.
King’s School The Crown is delighted to be a part of the British Council schools partnership, working with Cambridge to deliver the UK national curriculum through to IGCSE.
The process involved multiple inspections to ensure our new school met the highest standards, from the Egyptian Ministry of Education, Cambridge and the British Council. King’s School passed with flying colours!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the IT network, hardware, and software to ensure both the efficient and effective delivery of the curriculum and the administrative function.
- Ensure the installation, maintenance, and first-line repairs of IT hardware and networks, requesting repair by outside contractors or replacement/upgrades as necessary.
- Ensure the installation of software, ensuring that software licenses are obtained and kept up to date.
- Advise on the availability of IT preparing and setting up as required.
- Ensure that health and safety standards relating to IT are maintained and adhered to throughout the school.
- Provide technical advice to staff and pupils and governors on a broad range of IT issues.
- Provide advice and practical support to pupils and ensure compliance with safe working practices.
- Manage user profiles, permissions, etc.
- Manage and maintain servers.
- Ensure the development of the ICT service by contributing to the ICT Development Strategy.
- Responsible for ensuring the day-to-day maintenance and security of the ICT equipment is carried out.
- Responsible for stock control of a range of equipment and supplies.
- Attend relevant meetings and training sessions.
- Keep abreast of developments and changes in fields relevant to the role and communicate to the Head of School as required.
- Monitor, track, prioritize, respond to, and resolve help desk requests within a reasonable time frame.
- Maintain IT school inventory by monitoring, checking, purchasing, adding, and removing items into it.
- Manage and monitor all infrastructure, including network performance, data security, switches, Wi-Fi, firewall, database, storage, antivirus software, and other processes.
- Performs systems backups and recovery procedures and monitors daily servers and computers back up and off-site backup. In addition to participating in the disaster recovery plan.
- Coordinate, participate in and follow up on projects.
- Monitor the AV systems installation, network, and performance.
- Perform other work-related tasks as and when required by the line and matrix manager.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Degree in Computer Science, engineering or a relevant field.
- relevant work experience (Preferably with international schools).
- Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in information technology.
- Customer service attitude.
- Very good command of written and spoken English.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
